Mercyhurst University announced today a $1 million investment from national technology company MCPc that will take the Ridge College of Intelligence Studies and Applied Sciences to the next level by accelerating the expansion of its innovative cybersecurity program.
The Cleveland-based company, with offices in Erie, will create a cyber lab in Hammermill Library, which will be used by the Ridge College to educate students in the high-tech cyber field. Directly adjacent to the lab, MCPc will create and manage a high-security Network Operation Center that will employ Mercyhurst students.
When Keyman Asefi describes the new student union at Mercyhurst North East, he calls it a product of "emotional architecture."
“Emotional architecture is the architecture that responds to us, it can create a very attractive environment for its occupants to hang out, to study, to play or even just take a break from the ordinary classroom,” Asefi said.
With its bright colors and playground-like structures, the area has been reconfigured to use natural lighting to its advantage, while also incorporating an array of areas that appeal to different types of people.
My training and interests include Architecture, Design, and applications of variety of Technology software in the field. I believe that an efficient building goes beyond architecture; it is a combination of factors including ecological and environmental issues, sustainability, psychological and physical health effects, and overall, the potential it offers to enhance the quality of human experience and existences.
