Cybersecurity Lab, MCPC- Cleveland

Mercyhurst University announced today a $1 million investment from national technology company MCPc that will take the Ridge College of Intelligence Studies and Applied Sciences to the next level by accelerating the expansion of its innovative cybersecurity program.

Mercyhurst University has teamed up with Cleveland-based technology company MCPc, to create a state-of-the-art, cyber security network operation center.

"A space itself, has an impact on us,” said Keyman Asefi, a faculty member in Mercyhurst University’s Department of Interior Architecture and Design.  “We spend 90 percent of our life indoor, and I believe the shape of our building will shape us."

The facility will house the university’s cyber and data analytic programs, offered by the Ridge College of Intelligence Studies and Applied Sciences.

The concept of Emotional Interior Architecture is creating an all-inclusive space for its occupants, both introverts, and extroverts, that fosters an atmosphere of motivation and creativity. This is achieved by utilizing six specific layers that coalesce to bring a sense of joy and belonging to each person that steps foot inside. This unique approach to interior design has transformed the student union at Mercyhurst University’s North East campus in North East, PA.

Mosque Design

The mosque has been not only a place for religious practices but also a social space, allowing the formation of individual, social, and collective memories. Its spatial organization and central location in an urban or a rural settlement was developed to cultivate enduring practices, organize daily life, and accommodate social interactions among different socioeconomic groups. The secure position of the mosque as the center of daily life has shifted in varying degrees in different settings as a consequence of transformations in everyday life. In Malaysia, these transformations present a unique opportunity to critically examine the position of the mosque as a social space in a historical context and open a discussion of its spatial development with respect to the social, cultural, and political transformations shaped by the Republican reforms.
